Wonderful, Dr. Pineda-Munoz. Never considered that conditions may have changed before dinosaurs became dominant.

I wonder if we are seeing current-day stress upon plants, animals and humans with lower growth and lower reproductive rates before we see a collapse.

Thanks!

That’s indeed what we’re seeing right now. The pre-extinction signs, and the threats of a Sixth big one

I love the way you break down old science with new science and make it relevant to today’s background. ❤️

That’s scary and what I suspected. Humanity has dominated and reshaped the earth in such a small amount of time. Rather than seeing nature as partners and co-habitants we see nature as something to extract and throw away, stressing plants, animals, lands, oceans, atmospheres, and ourselves. Physics says to maintain such an extreme state requires a lot of energy and harmony. You confirmed that we are seeing pre-extinction signs, which means the given energy is insufficient to maintain harmony. 🥺 Sad, and entirely preventable.

Exactly. We won’t live in harmony with the planet until we understand that we are part of the system, and ultimately dependent on it.

Interesting. Today the Baltic sea often is mentioned together with low oxygen...
